2021
COVID-19 POLICIES
As we begin
our 2021 boating and floating season, we want our guests and staff to be
assured that we have your safety and comfort in mind. We will continue to implement the necessary
measures to maintain a safe and healthy atmosphere here at Blackwater Outdoor
Adventures.
For
the 2021 season we will continue to do all trip check-ins outdoors. Our retail shop will again be located
outdoors.
SELF
HEALTH CHECKS
All guests
and staff will perform self-health checks prior to coming to our
facilities. Anyone with any Covid 19
symptoms, or any other communicable disease symptoms, should please stay
home. If you, or any member of your
party, have been knowingly exposed to Covid 19 within 14 days of your trip, you
will need to cancel. Exceptions for this
include anyone who is asymptomatic that has already had Covid within the last
90 days or is fully vaccinated. These
policies are based off CDC guidelines.
MASK
WEARING
All guests
and staff will be required to wear face coverings during check-in, whenever a six-foot
distance from unfamiliar groups cannot be maintained, during shuttle rides, and
within our restroom facilities.
SANITIZATION
As always,
we sanitize all gear that is worn by guests between each use. All equipment (boats, paddles, etc.) used by
guests will be exposed to UV light (the sun) for no less than 30 minutes, and
not used again until the next day. Any
equipment that will require immediate reuse by another guest will be sanitized
with a spray disinfectant prior to reuse.
A rigorous
cleaning schedule will be maintained in our restroom facilities, and all high
touch surfaces will be regularly sanitized throughout the day.
SHUTTLE
VEHICLES
All guests
and staff will be required to wear face coverings for the duration of any
shuttle ride, and windows will remain open.
There are zero exceptions for not wearing face coverings. If you, or someone in your party, are
incapable of wearing one please ask us about your options prior to your trip departure.
While we do not intend to
fully load buses and vans, we will increase capacity from last year. Guests will be seated with only members of
their party, and there will be at least one seat separation between
parties. If you are uncomfortable riding
in a 14-passenger van with another group, you may pay for a minimum number of
guests to reserve the van to yourselves.
WHITEWATER
RAFTING
Last year we were legally
unable to put guests from separate parties in a raft together, that resulted in
our 4-person minimum per group. At this
point we plan on sticking with this minimum due to the inability to provide
adequate spacing in rafts. If you are a group of less than 4 you are welcome to
pay for 4 seats, and you will have a private raft with a guide. We hope that
with ongoing vaccinations this policy will change.
Moving
forward, we will follow all state and federal guidelines as well as common best
practices. We are prepared to adjust our
policies as needed.
